I am a firm believer that the environment you are in has a massive impact on your emotions, thoughts, and ultimately, results. This also refers to the physical space you’re creating in.
For many years, as an entrepreneur and a run-your-business-from-home mama, it made sense for me to have a home office space. Just considering family schedule, kid activities, and being available, it made the most sense for me to be working from home, and that was one of the perks of owning my own business at the time. It made so much sense for our family and made things easier. And truthfully, I really enjoyed it.
At home, I did have a gorgeous office space, I have to say. It was well-lit, beautiful windows, awesome wallpaper. Definitely “me.”
But, in June, I moved into a new office space, outside of my home. It was right at the beginning of summer, when the kids, all four of my children were out of school and home. I knew it was going to make for a difficult situation for me to really concentrate and focus and get shit done. I’m sure all of you mamas, and even dads, who work from home can totally relate to that.
So, I started searching for an office space that really felt good to me. The reason why I’m bringing this up is because I know that environment is super important.
I think that when you have a space that you feel really good in, that really represents you and your style, it can elevate the level of work you’re doing.
And that emotional connection with the space and that energy connects with your inner brilliance and brings it out in an even more impactful way.
With all that said, I do believe that the space you’re working in is really important. You’re spending so much of your time there. I wrote a blog post about this here. But really, truly, it matters.
In this video, I give you a little sneak peek of my office space. It is not anywhere near complete. We have some artwork being created and I have some other plans for a few other things. I won’t be doing the gorgeous wallpaper that I normally would have in my office because this space is rented, but I think it’s still pretty great.
I encourage you to take a look at your office space and see if it really feels like you and represents you. Because the minute you create in a space that’s really beautiful to your senses, your vibration goes up and what you create just is amplified in a really positive way. I hope this inspires you to do that.
